Thanks for this information, I have kept my leopard geckos together as well, and they have done very well. They are females they have 5 hides above and 2 underground hides in a 4×2×2. They spend time together and apart. I never have had an issue. They climb the logs and dig in the substrate. If they are happy, so am I. Thanks for the video. Your enclosure is lovely 😍

So I never had a problem. And now I have a monstrously huge female leopard gecko living alone. She grew up with another female gecko, but that gecko was already 10/when I introduced her as a juvenile into the terraruim. Well the elderly gecko.passed on. I thought. Fine time to get her a new tank mate ( it's a 55 gal.tall.I have personally designed, so plenty of room, lots of hiding plaves, etc) Well she in all honesty tried to murder VIOLENTLY the geckos I tried to home with her. So. She lives alone. While the 2 full grown adult geckos I got for free...live together continually fine in the tank I also got for free. I have just put in far more gecko appropriate items as the previous owner had nothing but a water dish and a rock in there. So I'm up to 3. None look the same because they are obviously different colour attributions that breeders try to attain. The huge lady is a fancy, she is brightly colored, deep green, with dark spots. The small girl is the traditional look everyone knows and loves, And the male is a lemon gecko (I think that's what they call it) When the body is yellow and black spot but the tail is pure yellow. The 2 are recovering from the beating they took ...It may take 2 -3 sheds to.completely heal where they were hurt. So yah. Live and learn.

I felt so bad with my baby corn snake, when I first got him and was handling him to get used to me he was simply so terrified. I hated it. When I tell you that man was not only fast, but could legit jump, without coiling his body up like a spring, this man could jump. Such sporadic behavior, made me believe I was doing everything wrong with my first snake. When in reality, it just took time. He grew out of it now he is a very docile, sociable adult. I love him so much. Now that I look back, I call it their scared attitude phase, “ I’m just a little noodle PLEASE” so cute!!

PS do not be afraid of having shaky hands, when doing research, I heard that it was so bad to have shaky hands when building a bond with your baby snake. I naturally have/had bad anxiety, but loved my boy, I was just naturally more shaky all that time. I was worried me being shaky, would also create issues with our trust, but it didn’t. He learned me and I learned him❤

As I’m going through the video I’m just gonna add more for my perspective. I’m having my first baby snake, who was a corn snake! He was pretty docile as a baby bite/ strike wise, he still has never bit me. So I don’t really have much tips on that. But I have heard the snakebite. It’s nothing compared to a dog bite. And I’ve had my right index finger, almost amputated because of a Rottweiler. That’s what made me so confident and picking up any of my snakes no matter they’re attitude😂

Does this “pretty much the same air temperature everywhere throughout the enclosure” include directly under or few inches below the basking lamp itself??? I’m trying to make sure that it’s not too high of an air temperature right under the basking lamps themselves and the readings are higher than what’s safe (95 degrees f in this case) but all my basking surface and air are good and the rest of the enclosure air temperatures are good. My snake will be able to access the area directly under the lamps while she is basking, so I’m just trying to make sure that it’s safe even though the readings are over the allowed 95°f… it’s be safe since the rest of the air at the top/ceiling level of the cool side in shade is reading below that… this is the actual number I need to trust and refer to?

hi. I have a 150×60×60cm PVC terrarium housing my timon lepidus male. He currently have a Arcadia prot5 fixture t5 12% UVB 39w (87cm) covering roughly half of the terrarium. For heat I have the 100w ARCADIA mvb D3 bulb and a 75w halogen bulb on a dimmer. I want to brighten up the terrarium and have ordered the Arcadia jungle dawn Ledbar 51w (87cm). I am planning on mount it in front of the uvb fixture so there is a darker shaded area in the back. Is this the correct size for my terrarium or should I go with a smaler size? I also have live plants.

I've only just found your channel so please forgive this comment on an old video. When I was a boy I lived and grew up through the late 1950's, 60's and 70's in a very rural and remote part of Norfolk on the edge of an extensive marshland close to the sea, with coastal heathland and an extensive common with ancient woodland, ponds and grassland and a river which led from the Broads to the sea. There were natterjacks, viviparous lizards, slow worms, grass snakes, adders, frogs, toads and all three species of newt. From around 1980 the heathland was cleared, levelled and is now a golf resort with holiday lodges and a second holiday park stuffed with caravans. In the 60's and 70's the banks which held back the sea from the marsh were burrowed into by coypu and were poorly repaired which damaged the marsh although subsequent work restored the banks and the marsh has regenerated over the last couple of decades. I spent a lot of time going around with the coypu man trapping the bloody things. The common land is now very expensive housing which few ordinary people like shopworkers, farm labourers or me can afford. The whole area has gone really, except part of the marsh and I find it incredibly sad. I haven't seen a swallowtail butterfly for over thirty years, a slow worm for at least twenty years or an adder for about the same length of time. I still see the occasional grass snake but most of the amphibians have gone, as have the vast clouds of lapwings and other birds. I haven't seen a newt since the early 1980's. I would love to see these species re-introduced but I find myself asking where? Is there a network of linked up people and habitats prepared to accept these animals? I know that there is a move towards rewilding but where I live all the land just seems to have been swallowed up by the above mentioned developments and industrial estates on former small field farmland. I apologise for the length of this comment.
